The Returning Ocer shall, as soon as possible, within the me allowed by the Act, inmate to the District Elecon Ocer, the Director and the Director of Elecons, the names of persons elected and the descripon of seats (whether reserved or unreserved) to which elected, under Rule 17 orRule 22-Q as the case may be, from the constuencies referred to in Rule 3, as well as the seats remaining unfilled aer such selecon.
25-A.Prohibionofsimultaneous membership[Secons 13(2),40(2)(1)and40(2)(xxxd-a)].—(1)Ifa person is elected to more than one Mandl Sami he shall, by noce in writing signed by him choose any one of the Mandl Samis which he shall serve and the choice shall be nal
(2) The noce referred to In sub-rule (1) shall, within seven days from the date of declaraon of the result by the Returning Ocer be delivered either in person or by registered post to the District Elecon Ocers in whose jurisdicon the Mardi Sami br Mandl Samis whose membership such person choose to relinquish is or are situate and there-upon the District Elecon Ocer shall give inmaon to the Director and Director of Elecons accordingly.
(3) If the candidate does not make the choice referred to in sub-rule (1), then aer the expiraon ofa period of een days from the date of the publicaon of the names and addresses of the persons elected or nominated under sub-selcon (6) of Secon 13, the Director may indicate the Mandl Sami, of which he shall be the member, unless he has previously resigned his seat in the Mancli Sami of all but one of such Mandl Samis.

(4) Whenever any such choice as is referred to in sub-rule (1) is given or the Director gives indicaon referredto insub-rule(3),the constuencyoreachoheconstuenciesotherthan theconstuency which such a person has chosen to serve, shall be called upon to elect another person.

(5) If a person who is already a member of one Mandi Sami and whose term of oce as a member of such Sami has commenced, is elected as a member of another Mandi Sarni his seat in the former Mandi Sami shall, on the date on which he is so elected become vacant.
25.B. Custody of the return of the ballot papers and other papers relang to elecon.—(1) The Returning Ocer shall, aer sending the inmaon of the result of the elecons under Rule 25, forward the return mentioned in rule 22-P to the secretary of the Mandi Sami for safe custody.
(2) The Returning Ocer shall also forward to Secretary of the Mandl Sami for safe custody, the sealed packets of ballot papers and all other papers relang to the elecon. The Returning Ocer shall put his signature on all such sealed packets and shall obtain a receipt from the Secretary,Mandi Sami.
25-C. Producon and inspecon of Elecon Papers.—(1) While in the custody of the Secretary, the packets of ballot papers whether valid, rejected or tendered, and of the marked copy of the Voters list, shall not be opened and their contents shall not be inspected by or produced before, any persorenrauthority except under the orders of the Director of Elecons or a Competent Court, or an Ocer authorised for hearing an elecon petion. The inspecon when ordered shall be subject to the payment of inspecon fee at the rate of rupees ten per day.
(2) All other papers relating to the elecon shall be open to public inspecon subject to such condions, if any, as the Director of Elecons may specify and subject to the payment, of inspecon fee at the rate of rupees ten per day.
(3) Copies °Lithe returns forwarded by the Returning Ocer under sub-rule (1) of Rule 25-B shall be furnished by the Secretary on payrnent of a fee of rupees two for each copy.
(4) Copiesofsuchpapersasare allowedto beinspectedundersub-rule(2)shallbegivenonpayment of a fee of rupees two per copy. Applicaon for copies of papers may be made on plain paper and no fee shall be payable on such applicaon.
(5) Cered copy of any paper referred to in sub-rule (4) shall be aested by the Secretary and shall be issued from his ofce.
25-D.Penales.—Nopersonshall—
(a) alterortamperwiththevoterslistoritscopyoranyotherdocuments;or
(b) obstruct or in any way interfere with the performance of dues by any Ocer or Servant appointed or employed for the purpose of these rules; or
(c) deface, injure, disturb or remove any copy, noce or any other documents axed or otherwise published under these rules, in any public oce or elsewhere; and whoever contravenes the provisions of this rule shall be liable to punishment under Secon 37.
