The Uttar Pradesh Industrial Housing Act, 1955State Act of Uttarakhand · Act 23 of 1955

(1) The State Government may appoint one or more Deputy Labour Commissioners [Housing] 1 and Assistant [Labour] 1 Commissioners [Housing] 1 and other officers and staff as it may consider necessary to administer, supervise and carry out the work connected with the administration of this Act.

(2) A Deputy [Labour] 1 Commissioner [Housing] and an Assistant [Labour] 1 Commissioner [Housing] 1 shall, subject to general control of the State Government and the orders of the [Labour] 1 Commissioner, be competent to discharge any of the duties and to exercise any of the powers of the [Labour] 1 Commissioner, and when discharging such duties or exercising such powers, shall have the same privileges and be subject to' the same liabilities as the [Labour] 1 Commissioner.

[Labour]1 Commissioner and other officers and servants to be public servants under section 21 I.P.C.

6. The [Labour] 1 Commissioner and any other officer or servant appointed under sub-section (1) of section 5 shall be deemed to be public servants within the meaning of section 21 of the Indian Penal Code.

Duties of the [Labour] Commissioner

7. Subject to the control of the State Government, the [Labour] 1 Commissioner shall be responsible for allotment of houses, realization of their rent, [securing the]3 eviction of persons occupying such houses, and all other matters relating to the administration of this Act.
