The West Bengal Corneal Grafting Act, 1965State Act of West Bengal · Act 19 of 1965

(1) Nothing in this Act shall be construed as rendering unlawful any dealing with, or with any part of, the body of any deceased person which would have been lawful it this Act had not been passed.

(2) Notwithstanding anything contained in section 297 of the Indian Penal Code, an authority for the removal of the eyes from the body of a. deceased person given in accordance with. the provisions of this Act or the removal of the eyes from the body of the deceabRd person in pursuance of such authority shall not be deemed to be an offence punishable under the said section.
