Section 3: After sub-rule (xiv) of rule 16, the following shall be added, namely

"(xv) If the holder of composite license,-

(a) fails to complete the prospecting operations in accordance with these rules and terms and conditions of the licence, such holder shall not be eligible for grant of the quarry lease and the Composite license shall expire and the security deposited by the licensee shall be confiscated whole or its part by a written order of the sanctioning authority;

(b) completes prospecting operations in accordance with these rules and terms and conditions of the licence, and establishes the existence of the minerals, such holder shall make an application in Form IX to the Competent Authority for grant of quarry lease within ninety days from expiry of licence period or such period as extended by the Director, which shall not be more than six months:

Provided quarry lease shall be granted for the such area where existence of mineral has been established and necessary for quarry operations and shall not be more than the maximum area for which quarry lease shall be granted under these rules:

Provided further that any additional area, shall be deemed to be surrendered after it is corrected by any holder of the prospecting licence."

4. Rule 19 shall be omitted.

5. Rule 33 shall be omitted.

6. Rule 37 shall be omitted.
