The Assam Liquor Prohibition ( Amendment) Act, 1956State Act of Assam · Act 13 of 1956

In Section5 3 of the Prin cipal Act, the following shall be ad de d as a proviso, na mely:— “ Provided th at fo r three years from the c ommencement of the Assam Liq uor Prohib ition (Am endmen t) Act, 1956 it shall be lawful for a family of Scheduled Tribes to posses-s Pac hwai to the extent of two a nd h al f seers;

for t he p urpose of home con sum ptio n.

Explanation.—The word ‘family’ means persons living together and hav ing a co mmon kit chen” .
