(1) In these regulations, unless the context otherwise requires, --
(a) “Act” means the Energy Conservation Act, 2001 (52 of 2001);
(b) “built-up area” means the total covered areas on all floors of a building from the basement to all storeys including the areas covered by walls and parapet measured at the floor levels excluding parking;
(c) “energy audit report” means the report of energy audit submitted under sub-regulation (6) of regulation 6 and signed by the accredited energy auditor;
(d) “form” means forms appended to these regulations;
(e) “Energy Performance Index” means annual energy consumption in kiloWatt hours per square metre of built-up area of a building which shall be calculated as per the following formula:

(2) Words and expressions used herein and not defined but defined in the Act or in the Energy Conservation Building Code Rules, 2018 shall have the meanings respectively assigned to them in the Act and the said rules.
