( I) Every nomination paper shall be presented to the Return ing Officer at the Cantonment Board office, on the day and within the hours specified in the public notice referred to in rule 20, by the candidate or his election agent or his proposer.
(2) Any nomination paper not presented within the proper hours, or presented by-any person other than those referred to in this sub-rule, shall be rejected.
(3) Subject to the provisions of these rules, a candi -date or on his behalf his eJection agent or proposer shall not present more than four nomination paper in total in the same w.:trrJ.
(4) bach candidate with his nomination paper shall deposit, or cause to he deposited with the Returning Officer, a surn of rupees three thousand in cash:
Provided that where the candidate belongs to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe the amount of such deposit shall be rupees one thousand aqd five hundred only:
Provided further that v.-;hcre more than one nomina tion paper is prc~ented, one depoSit only shall be suffi cient.
(5) The nomination of a candidate not accompanied by the required deposit shall be rejected.
Explanatiun:-For the purposes of this rule, ''Election ugent" means any person appointed in writing by a candidate tD represent him.
