(l) No person shall be appointed to the service or posts by direct recruitment if he/ she does not fallwithirJsuch range of minimum aI1dmaximum age limits as may be specifically fIXedby the ChaI1digarh Administration as per schedule or taking into consideration the general policy of the ChaI1digarh Administration in respect of recnlitments to similar posts. for their employees:
Provided further that upper age limit may be relaxed upto 45 years in the case of persons already in the employment oft.heUnionTerritory. Chandigarh. State Governments and Government of India including other Union Territories:
Provided further that in the case of caI1didates belonging to Scheduled Castes. and other bach.-ward classes. the upper age limits shall be such as may be fixed by the Chancligarh Administration from time to time for their employees.
(2) In the case of Ex-Servicemen. the upper age limit shall be such as has been prescribed in the lules as applicable to them and as amended from time to time.
(3) In the case of appointment on compassionate grounds on priority basis. the Upper age 1 limit shall be such as may be specifically fixed by the Boar-d from lime to time taking into f consideration the policy of the Chandigarh Administration.
