The cases of enrolled personnel failures in the basic training or professional/specialist qualification courses on entry into service shall be referred to BUVIK for consideration. Those who fail in the examination may at the discretion of BUVIK be given further training in the subject or subjects in which they have failed and be re-examined. Such enrolled personnel who in the opinion of BUVIK will not benefit by further training shall be liable to be discharged from service as 'unsuitable' with the approval of the Inspector-General in the Coast Guard Headquarters. Those who fail in the examination at the second attempt , shall also be liable to be discharged from the service as 'unsuitable', as provided in the Coast Guard (General) Rules, 1986.
