The fire sai'ety certi{icate issued under rule 23 unless sooner cancelled shall be valid fr a period of 5 years for residential buildings (othcr ttran hote[s) and 3 years for non:residential buildings induding hotels from the date of issue:
provided that the Regional Fire Officer or the Chief Fire Officer rnay reduce the period after recording the reasons t}terefGe.

Renewot of Fire S$a1 Ce ificate-- (l) Appiication for renewal of Fne Safety Cenificate granted under rule 23 shalibe made no &e Regional Fire C)fficer or the ChiefFire Officer, in Form 'Bl4' aloirg with ' a copy of the Fire Safety Certificate prior to one month before of the opiry date of the Fire Safety Certificate.
(2) On receipt of an applii:ation made undcr sub-rule (1), the Regional Frre Officer or the Chief Fire iyn"". o, .oy o,irer olficeraurhoris€d by him shall inspect tire buildingor prmises to verifo the compliance ofrules and forward the reportofthe compliance or otherwise,'to the Director'
(3) On receipt of report tder suurule (2), the Regional Fire Officer r the Chief Fire Officer or any otir.r offi.e. autho.ised by him in this behalf by a special or general order, rcoew the Fire Safety Certlficate for a period spe,cified under rule 24 or reject the application duly recording the reasons therefore.
