Section 15: Publication of notice of Election by Returning Officer

(1) A public notice of election notified under rule 14 shall be published by the Returning officer indicating clearly -

(a) the number of persons to be elected to each of the electoral colleges for which election declared;

(b) the last date for filing nominations which shall be the seventh day after the date of Publication of the notice.

(c) The place at which such nomination are to be filled;

(d) The date of scrutiny of nominations which shall be the next day after the last date of filing nominations;

(e) the last date for withdrawal of nomination which shall be the third day after the date for the scrutiny of nominations;

(f) the date on which the polling shall be held, which shall not be earlier than the tenth day from the last date for with drawl of nominations;

(g) the date before which the process of election shall be completed. Provided that if any date notified under clauses (b), (d) or (e) falls on a public holiday such date shall be deemed to be the date on the next working day falling immediately after the holiday.

(2) The notice shall be issued in form 9 and shall be published in the local dailies, having circulation in the area at least one in each language namely, English, Hindi and Urdu and also in the office of:-

(i) the Returning officer

(ii) Jharkhand state Sunni and Shia Wakf Board

(iii) District Wakf office; and

(iv) any other office considered to be fit by the returning officer.
