Subject to the provisions of the Act and the rules in force and the - instructions issued by the Government from time to time, the Standing Committee shall have the following powers, functions and duties, namely:-
(1) To call for the papers, letters, documents and other information called in the same manner and in such way as the G~amSabha has powers to call.
(2) To supervise the departments, schemes, programmes and construction work within the operational areas and to support the Gram Sabha in presenting the social aud:.t.

(4) To perform or -to implement the worK as -directed- by the-State-'. -,-----:----,--,- Government, Zila Panchayat, Janpad Panchayat and Gram. PaI!ch ayat , _ from time to time.
(5)The Standing Committee shall be responsible to the of Gram Sabha ..
