Section 53: Appointment of Registrar’s nominee or board of nominees

(1) The Registrar may, by general or special order, appoint any per son to be his nominee for deciding disputes arising in any society or class of societies with in such area and for such period as may be specified in the order.

(2) The Registrar may by order appoint a board of nominees consist ing of two or more nominees for deciding disputes arising in any society or class of societies within such area and for such period as may by specified in the order.

(3) Where a board of nominees is appointed under sub -rule (2), one of the nominees on the board shall be appointed by the Regist rar to be the Chairman of the Board, who shall f ix the date, t ime and place of hearing disputes referred to by board and issue notices in connection with the disposal of such disputes.

(4) Save where i t has been otherwise provided in the Act, i n deciding the disputes where there is no unanimous decision, the opinion of the majority 50 shall prevail . Where opinion of the nominees on the board is equally divided, the opinion of the Chairman of the board shall prevail .
