The Chairperson shall be appointed by the Central Government on the recommendation of a search-cum-selection committee consisting of the following persons, namely:-
(i) A senior distinguished academician in the relevant field to be nominated by the Minister Social Justice and Empowerment...................................Chairman;
(ii) Secretary, Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities; ……..Member;
(iii) Chief Commissioner for Persons with Disabilities...........................Member;
(iv) Two experts of eminence amongst the Managing Directors or Chairperson of Non Governmental Organisations working in the field of Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, Multiple Disabilities, of whom one Member will be a parent or sibling................................Members.
