Section 5: Rent for the period of overstay

·-- Where the Leader of'the Opposition, on ceasing to be such Leader, occupies a residence beyond the period specified in Section 4 of the Act, he shall be liable to pay, for the period of overstay, rent in addition to water supply and electricity charges, in accordance with the principles laid down in the Fundamental Rules, provided that if the residence has been taken on lease from a private source, the rent charged shall be the standard rent calculated under Clause (a) of Rule 5.23 of the Punjab Civil Services Rules, Volume I, Part I, in addition to the water supply and electricity charges. .
