(i) There shall be a Standing cademic Board of the University wllich shall, subject to the provisions f this Act, the statutes and the ordinances, co-ordinate and exercise eneral supervision over the academic affairs of the University. j
(2) The Standing Acadetnic Board shall consist of the foliowing r-oflcio members, namely :-
(a) the Vice-Chancc~llor ;
(b) the Director of ~ e d i c a i Education ;
(c) the Director of Medical Services and Fainily Welfare :
( ( I ) the Discctor of Public Health aud Prevantive Medicine ;
(c ) tlic Dircctor of Indian Medicine and Homoeopathy;
(f) the Presidents of thc Faculties of the University ; aud
(g) Ihc Cllair~ncn of t l ~ c Boards of Studies of the University.

(3) ~ub jeh to tlie proviiions of this Act, the statutes and the ordinances, the Standing Academic Board shall have the following b:
, poweq namely :- 1 .a , i c x * (a), to make regulations and amend or repekl the same ;
(b) to advise the Governing Council, on the promotion of research in the University ; and I
(c) to suggest measures for revisions and idnovations in academic arid research programmes. I
(4) The Standilrb Academic Board shall ordinarily meet twice in a year. The uoard may, however, meet on other occasions as may be ; decided by the Governing Council.
(5) One-third of the total strength of the members of the Standing *iAcadedc Board shall be the quorum required for a meeting of the S w a g Academic Board.

(6) The Vice-Chancellor shall presiue at all meetings of the Standing ' - Academic Board. If the Vice-Chancellor cannot be present at a meeting of the Standing Academic Board due to any reason, the members present may elect a Chairman from among themselves.
