(1) Whenever an election tinder clause (iii) of subsection. (1) of section 5 of the Act becomes necessary at a general election of the members of the Board, the State Government shall issue a notification in the official Gazette calling upon the Faculty concerned with the Ayurvedic or Unani-Tibbi system of medicine of each University having such Faculty to elect a member by such date as may be specified in the notification.

Nomination
(2) Upon the issue of the notification referred to in subrule (1) a meeting, of the Faculty, shall be convened in accordance with the law and rules governing the calling and holding of meetings of the Faculty concerned before the date fixed in the notification under sub-rule (1) and the Faculty shall elect a person by the system of the single non-transferable vote to be a-member of the .Board. The Faculty shall communicate the name of such member to the State Government.
(3) If a casual vacancy on the Board occurs by reason of the death, resignation, removal or avoidable of election of a person elected under this rule, a bye-election shall be held as soon as may be on the occurrence of a vacancy in the manner provided in this rule :
Provided that only the Faculty which elected the outgoing member shall be called upon to fill the vacancy.
