(1) The body prescribed under rule 5 shall take the following steps for the enrichment of fisheries in cooperation of fisheries department--

(a) stocking of fish seed in the rivers and streams/ jheel/ pond/ waters as per their necessity;

(b) Stocking of fish seed in their adapted waters, by producing the fish seed in abundant quantity in the hatchery of departmental ownership;

(c) after monsoon on decreasing the water level, stocking of small fish in the main stream by catching them, which are steeped in their river basin;

(d) stocking of fish seed for re establishment of water biological balance of the waters effected after the construction of dams on continuous flow rivers.

(2) Such institution shall be liable for the promotion and protection of fisheries in the allocate beat wise purview to whom such beat shall allocate and for the promotion and protection of fisheries in rivers and jheels/ pond of trout and Mahseer waters, river and jheels/ pond of general waters (hilly area), the department owned the reservoir and the department issuing permit of angling/ fishing in the said area, with the cooperation of fisheries department, shall be liable.

(3) In the allocated beat wise pur view of person/ institutions, fish finger for fish seed stocking shall make available from the hatchery of departmental ownership on fix rates.

(4) In the beat wise purview, the right to determine the species and quantity of seed shall be reserved for the Director, Fishery.

Directions regarding the restrictions regarding fish protection and fishing

15. Subject to the provision of the Act, the following restrictions shall be followed by the prescribed body for the fish protection—

(1) Dynamiting, toxic chemical sand plant,electric current etc destructive experiments, in the water reservoir of fisheries shallbe completely restricted but inview of biodiversity and environment, variation in the flow of stream shallbe 18 permitted to the same extent whereby the flow was not effected adversely.

(2) Illegal methods of fishing shall be prohibited completely for saving the big fish along with their innumerable eggs and small fish from destruction.

(3) The State Government may, from time to time, issue comprehensive direction to prohibit the invalid methods of illegal fishing for eliminating the adverse effect held on the water biological balance of river and streams.

(4) The fishery department shall ensure to communicate the importance of the protection of important fish species like trout and Mahseer in the rivers and stream by ensuring the participants of department owned the water, institutions and local people.

(5) Catching any fish of the weight of less than the following weight under fishing from angling and other fix methods shall be prohibited---

(i) Rainbow trout-weight of less than 300grm

(ii) Brown trout-weight of less than 300 grm

(iii) Snow trout-weight of less than 250grm

(iv) Common carp-weight of less than 300 grm

(v) Mahseer-weight of less than 400 grm

(vi) Catla-weight of less than 500grm

(vii) Rohu-weight of less than 500grm

(viii) Nain-weight of less than 400grm

(ix) Silvercarp-weight of less than 500 grm

(x) Grascarp-weight of less than 500grm

(xi) Cania-weight of less than 300 grm Note- In addition to the abovesaid mentioned fish species, catching, destructing or selling of fish of other species of the weight less than 500 grm in plain area and of the weight less than 250 grm for hilly area shall be prohibited.

(6) Fish caught of less than the specified weight under fishing from angling and other fix methods shall leave back in same water reservoir.

(7) The concerned departments, while permitting to remove sand, 19 gravel, stone or other sediment material from the main breeding site of fish in the pond, rivers and streams existingin the State, shall keep in the view that there shall be no adverse effect in the fishery breeding on said sites.

(8) Fish sports/ fishing by angling and other methods in the allocated purview shall be closed completely during the breeding period of fisheries except the proviso of subrule

(12)of rule12.

(9) It is obligation ofthe executive institution, on information of violation of anyrule, tointimateit to theDirector, Fishery or any other officer bearer of fishery or any police officer.

(10) In the allocated purview after the monsoon small fish steeped in its river basin on decreasing the water level of river basin on decreasing the water level of river shall be accumulated in the main stream by catching them by the executive institution;

(11) During monsoon when the water of the main river become dirty by increasing the water level, in that time the fish go away from the main stream, to the small streams by leaving it, in this duration any kind of fishing nearby such kind of stream shall be prohibited except as the proviso of sub rule 12 of rule 12

(12) Fish sports/Fishing in the trout waters from01st November to 28th February and in Mahseer waters from 1st July to 30th September during breeding season shall be prohibited completely except as the proviso of sub rule (12) of rule 12.

Fishing by Invalid methods is prohibited

16. In addition to the licenced methodin the appendix, destructionor attempt to destroy fish from dynamiting, toxic chemicals and plant, electric current, gun, gaff, bow and arrows or similar instruments or contaminated/ polluted water of factories etc. and contaminating the reservoir from the water contaminated by the factories shall be prohibited.
