    Cancellation and Refund Policy

    Last updated: January 1, 2025

This Cancellation and Refund Policy (“Policy”) outlines the terms for cancelling your CourtMesh subscription and any eligibility for refunds. It applies to all users who have subscribed to paid plans of CourtMesh. By purchasing a subscription, you agree to this Policy as part of our Terms of Service.

    1. Free Plan

1.1 Free Plan: CourtMesh offers a Free plan (or free trial) that provides basic access at no cost. The Free plan does not require any payment information to sign up. Because it is free of charge, there are no payments and thus no refunds applicable to the Free plan. You can continue using the Free plan as long as it is offered. If you do not wish to continue using CourtMesh, you may simply stop using the service or delete your account - no cancellation is needed for the Free plan.

    2. Paid Subscriptions

2.1 Paid Plans: CourtMesh’s paid subscription plans (such as Professional, Business, or Enterprise tiers) offer enhanced features and higher usage limits as described on our Pricing page. When you upgrade to a paid plan, you will be billed immediately for the chosen billing cycle (e.g., monthly or annually). All subscription charges are prepaid for the period of service.

    2.2 Auto-Renewal:

Paid subscriptions are set to auto-renew at the end of each billing period by default. This means:

    • Monthly Plans: If you subscribe on a monthly basis, your subscription will renew each month on the same date. Your payment method will be charged automatically at the start of each new month.
    • Annual Plans: If you subscribe on an annual basis, your plan will renew once every year on the anniversary of your sign-up date, with your payment method charged for the next year.

We will consider the renewal as authorized unless you cancel before the renewal date. Please note that we may adjust pricing from time to time; however, any price change for your plan will be communicated to you in advance (generally via email or a notice on the site) and will only apply to subsequent renewals. If you do not agree to a price change, you must cancel your subscription before the new rate takes effect.

2.3 Payment Failures: It is your responsibility to ensure your payment information is accurate and up to date. If an auto-renewal charge is declined (for example, due to an expired credit card or insufficient funds), we will attempt to notify you. We may retry the charge. If payment is not completed within a grace period (typically a few days), we reserve the right to suspend your paid features until payment is resolved. If prolonged non-payment occurs, we may downgrade you to the Free plan or cancel your subscription.

    3. How to Cancel Your Subscription

We hope you find value in our service, but if you need to cancel, the process is straightforward:

    • Through Account Settings: Log in to your CourtMesh account, navigate to the “Account” or “Subscription” settings page, and choose the option to cancel or downgrade your plan. Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm cancellation. The cancellation will take effect at the end of your current billing cycle. You will retain access to paid features until that period ends, after which your account will revert to the Free plan (or be closed, if you choose).
    • Via Customer Support: If you encounter any issues cancelling through the website, you can email our support at hello@courtmesh.ai with the subject “Cancel Subscription.” Include your account email and subscription plan. We will process the cancellation for you and send a confirmation. (Please allow up to 2 business days for support requests.)
    • Confirmation: After cancellation, you should receive an email confirming that your subscription is set to not renew. Keep this confirmation for your records. If you do not receive confirmation, please contact support to ensure your request was received.

Remember, uninstalling the website or simply not using the service does not automatically cancel recurring subscriptions – you must follow the steps above to formally cancel.

    4. Refund Policy

4.1 General No Refund Policy: In line with common practice for subscription services, payments for CourtMesh subscriptions are non-refundable by default. Once a billing cycle has started (month or year), the fee for that period is owed in full and cannot be refunded if you decide to cancel part-way through. For example, if you cancel a monthly subscription 10 days into the month, you will not receive a refund for the remaining days of that month – your cancellation will prevent the next month from being charged, but the current month remains paid.

4.2 Prorated Refunds: CourtMesh generally does not offer prorated refunds for cancelling in the middle of a billing cycle. You will continue to have access to paid features until the period you paid for ends. After cancellation, you won’t be charged again, but we do not credit or refund unused days. One exception is if you mistakenly purchased duplicate subscriptions or were double-billed due to our error; in such cases, please contact us and we will correct the situation, including issuing a refund if applicable.

4.3 Money-Back Guarantee (if offered): At this time, CourtMesh does not advertise a money-back guarantee. We offer a free trial period (e.g., 30-day free trial for new users) to ensure you are satisfied before committing to a paid plan. Thus, once you transition to a paid plan and are billed, it is assumed the service meets your needs. However, if we ever explicitly offer a satisfaction guarantee or refund window as part of a promotion, the terms of that offer will override this general policy for those eligible customers. (For instance, if an offer says “cancel within 14 days for a full refund,” we will honor that as stated for those who qualify.)

    4.4 Special Circumstances:

We understand there may be special cases where a refund is warranted. These may include:

    • Service Outage or Defect: If our Service had a significant outage or technical problem that severely affected your use of a paid feature, you can request a partial refund or credit. We will assess these on a case-by-case basis.
    • Accidental Renewal: If you intended to cancel but forgot and a renewal just occurred, contact us immediately (generally within a few days of the charge). As a courtesy, we may refund the latest charge if we verify that you did not use the service after renewal and you genuinely meant to cancel. This courtesy refund is at our discretion and typically only once per user.
    • Jurisdictional Requirements: If applicable law in your jurisdiction mandates a refund right (for example, some regions have cooling-off periods for online purchases), we will comply with those laws. Please refer to your local consumer rights; you may need to notify us within a certain timeframe to exercise such rights.

Any approved refunds will be issued to the original payment method. Please allow a reasonable time for the refund to process (typically 5-10 business days, depending on your bank/credit card).

    5. Subscription Termination by Us

5.1 Violation of Terms: If you violate our Terms of Service or engage in prohibited activities (such as sharing your account, scraping data, or other misuse), we reserve the right to suspend or terminate your subscription immediately, without prior notice. In such cases of violation, you will not be eligible for any refund for unused days. For example, if we terminate your account for breach halfway through your paid month, you forfeit the remaining period’s fee due to your misconduct.

5.2 Fraud or Payment Issues: If any payment is identified as fraudulent or if a chargeback is initiated, we may terminate or suspend the associated account. We also reserve the right to contest chargebacks and provide these terms and your usage records as evidence that the charges were authorized and the service delivered.

5.3 Discontinuation of Service: In the unlikely event that we decide to discontinue the CourtMesh service entirely or cease offering subscriptions, we will provide notice and, at our discretion, either continue to provide the service for the duration of existing subscriptions or issue prorated refunds for the remaining unused portion of current subscriptions.

    6. Changes to This Policy

We may update or modify this Cancellation and Refund Policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify subscribers via email or a notice on our website. The latest version of the Policy will always be available on the CourtMesh website (see “Last updated” date above). Continued use of the Service or maintaining an active subscription after a Policy update constitutes acceptance of the changes.
